About this experience

“Camping in the savannah: the most genuine, simple and unforgettable adventure.”

Tsavo East National Park is pure, open wilderness—red-earth plains, baobab silhouettes and dust-tinted elephant herds. By day, game drives trace seasonal rivers and waterholes; by golden hour the light turns magical; and at night, campfire embers glow under a sky full of stars. The Galana River draws wildlife to drink, offering close (yet respectful) viewing opportunities.

Highlights

  • True bush immersion: sleep in a private mobile camp set only where conditions allow—no fences, just nature.
  • Prime wildlife loops: river lines, pans and the Aruba Dam area attract elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo and antelope.
  • Golden-hour magic: sunrise and sunset drives when animals are most active and the light is unforgettable.

Suggested flow (3–4 nights)

  1. Day 1 — Coast → Tsavo East. Settle into camp; afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner by the fire.
  2. Day 2 — Full day in the park: dawn and late-afternoon drives (or one extended drive). Midday rest at camp.
  3. Day 3 — Explore new loops along river lines and waterholes; optional guided bush walk in permitted areas (if available).
  4. Day 4 (optional) — Extra night for a deeper, slower rhythm—perfect for photographers and nature lovers.
  5. Departure day — Final morning game drive while exiting; optional lunch stop en route back to Vinrosa House.

Good to know

  • Park timings: standard gate hours apply; drives are planned for dawn/dusk within regulations.
  • Low-impact camp with leave-no-trace principles; routes and sites depend on conditions and permits.
  • Wildlife is wild—viewing varies by season and recent rains; patience brings the best encounters.
